Refuge: Formed by the God Who Holds Us

Psalm 46 was written for people who know how fragile life can feel. It does not deny fear or promise that the world will stop shaking. Instead, it teaches God’s people where true stability is found.

In this message, we see that refuge is not escape from a broken world, but life lived in the faithful presence of God. The psalm shows us that God is near, that He reigns over all things, and that stillness before Him is not passivity but trust. As the psalm unfolds, we are reminded that stability is not something we achieve through control or strength, but something God forms in us as we learn to rest in Him.

Ultimately, Psalm 46 points us to Jesus Christ - the refuge who entered our instability, bore its chaos at the cross, and now reigns over a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Because He was shaken for us, those who belong to Him can live with steady confidence, even in an uncertain world.
