The Ancient of Days, The Son of Man (Daniel 7:1-28)
Daniel 7 gives a striking vision of earthly kingdoms as beasts rising out of chaos. These kingdoms appear powerful and terrifying, yet each one is temporary. In contrast, Daniel is shown the throne of the Ancient of Days, where God sits in purity, wisdom, and authority, judging evil with perfect righteousness.
At the center of the passage is the Son of Man, who comes before the Ancient of Days and receives dominion, glory, and an everlasting kingdom. Jesus identifies Himself with this title, showing that He is the true King whose reign will never end. Through His death and resurrection, He secures forgiveness for sinners and welcomes His people into His kingdom.
This sermon calls us not to place our hope in the kingdoms of this world, but in Christ alone. Even when evil seems strong and the world feels unstable, God is still on His throne. In Jesus, the saints have a sure inheritance and a lasting hope. We invite you to listen and join us as we gather around God’s Word each Sunday.
