In Ephesians 4:25-32, Paul explains what it looks like to live according to the new identity we've received in Jesus Christ. Because believers have put off the old self and put on the new, the way we live should reflect the transforming work of God's grace.
The new life changes our actions, calling us to truthfulness, self-control, honest work, and generosity. It changes our words, teaching us to speak in ways that build others up rather than tear them down. And it changes our relationships, calling us to put away bitterness and hostility and to extend kindness, compassion, and forgiveness.
These commands are not a way to earn God's favor. They are a response to the forgiveness we've already received through Christ. The same grace that saves us is the grace that transforms us.
Listen to this sermon from Ephesians 4:25-32 and consider how Christ is calling you to live out the new life you've received in Him. We also invite you to worship with us at Refuge Church Centralia on Sundays at 10 am.
