Jesus Himself Is Our Peace

In Ephesians 2:14–18, Paul tells us that Jesus Himself is our peace. The ancient division between Jew and Gentile was more than a disagreement. It touched worship, culture, daily life, and identity. Yet Christ broke down the dividing wall of hostility in His flesh. Through the cross, He created one new people in Himself.

That changes how Christians understand both reconciliation and the church. Our deepest unity is not found in shared preferences, backgrounds, traditions, politics, or personalities. It is found in Christ. We should therefore examine the walls we are tempted to build and ask whether we are requiring something for fellowship that Jesus does not require for access to the Father.

Most importantly, both those who were far off and those who were near needed the same thing: reconciliation to God. Jesus accomplished that reconciliation through the cross. Through Him, God's people now have access in one Spirit to the Father. Join us at Refuge Church Centralia as we continue walking through Ephesians and learning to live the Gospel we have received.
